Never get down on yourself if you lose only a pound or two per week. Instead, get tougher on yourself and fight harder. Look at your weight loss on a monthly scale, it'll be more accurate.
Secondly, don't forget the impact nutrition has on weight loss. Don't celebrate your weight loss with food. That's like an alcoholic celebrating sobriety with a drink. Don't remind your body of what it is missing and soon it will forget about it completely.
Lastly, think about what has the most residual benefit. Enjoying a chocolate cheesecake for 20 minutes, or losing 20 lbs and shocking everyone around you for the next 2 weeks? It just involves one choice. To do or not to do?

This will allow you to notice tiny fluctuations in your weight which are quick and easy to correct. Eating slightly smaller portions, walking around the block or playing with the kids outside is often all it takes to get back in control.
