The best home workout equipment doesn't have to be expensive to be effective for weight loss.
$500 to $6,000 is a lot to spend on gym equipment, but is it the best home workout equipment? Think about how much weight you want to lose versus how much you are going to spend on EVERYTHING WEIGHT LOSS…and then rationalize it by comparing a dollars-spent-to-pounds-lost ratio.
There is a ton of useless workout equipment on the market. Shop at Costco, Walmart, or even ebay, but remember that this equipment is not commercial gym quality, and if you don’t like how it functions or feels, chances are, you won’t use it. Also, it is very important to recognize the return policy from where you bought it, as every home gym eventually fails, and to have a service person out to fix it can be upwards of $500 (parts and labor, depending on the equipment model).
The best choice (in my opinion) is to buy as little as possible, and to make it go as far as possible. Compare your dollars-spent-to-pounds-lost ratio. Losing weight should not require you to take out a second mortgage, that’s to get your kids through college!
KIS- Keep it simple. The fewer moving parts the better. There’s less to go wrong in 5 years time, and maybe even you’ll know how to fix it!
And lastly, because I promised you my best home workout equipment choice, here it is...
I’ve worked out and trained on every piece of equipment imaginable (that’s what you do when you are as passionate about this stuff as I am, I need a social life) and my preferred method is exactly what this site is about.
I use a 45lb plate- one that you would slide on a barbell handle in a gym. That’s it. The more ways that I can use this awkward disc along with my own body-weight, the stronger and leaner I seem to get.
And yes, if I didn’t continue to be active every day, I would pack on the pounds like everyone else in the world. I’m a normal person too.
